Hi, I’m Kathryn! I love a buttery chard, super burritos, and don’t think the B—- in Apartment 23 should have ever been cancelled. I was born and raised in San Francisco, but I abandoned NorCal for Dodgers Country for 4 years while attending USC (Fight On✌?). I met some of my best friends at school through Alpha Delta Pi ?, but couldn’t stay away from the Bay Area for long (my future husband might have had something to do with it!). I’m back in the City by the Bay where I live with my now husband, Roberto. By day I work in finance.
About The Opening Belle
I started The Opening Belle as a place to share my life and my favorite things in it. As a professional 20-something I’m still working on finding a 9-5 style that feels fresher than pantsuits, hitting snooze less than seven times every morning, and eating something more nutritious than frozen pizza and marshmallows (insider information: Trader Joe’s has the BEST marshmallows).
As a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™, another really important part of my life is personal finance. So on one hand I’m all about rosé all day, but I’m also all about your 401k (did that rhyme as well in your head as it did in mine?). I’m not here to tell you to cut out that skinny caramel macchiato or the best way to organize your coupon collection (my Bed, Bath, and Beyond coupons just sit in a pile that Roberto isn’t allowed to throw out because urban legend has it they never expire). For me, personal finance is all about empowerment. I don’t think there’s any one “right” way to save, budget, invest, or spend. Everyone’s financial goals are different and that’s great. I’m hoping to share information from my professional and personal life to help you make the right choice for you and your life.
